Annie Christain (b. 1981) is an English teaching assistant and 2nd year PhD student at the University of South Dakota. She received BA degrees in English and Philosophy & Religion from Truman State University in Kirksville, Missouri in 2003, and in May 2005, she received her MA in English from the University of South Dakota. She is also a member of USD’s Vermillion Literary Project (VLP), a group that promotes a variety of literary events with the goal of inspiring creativity on and off campus. She is an active participant in the group’s monthly poetry slams. Her poem, “Done When No Longer Pink Inside” was recently published in the winter 2006-7 issue of the online poetry magazine, Poetry Bay (http://www.poetrybay.com/poempub.htm).
