Born 1981 in Hamburg, Germany to parents from the Zamalek and Maadi areas of Cairo, Egypt, Dina El Dessouky immigrated to the U.S. at age three. Though her family moved to Northern California when she was eight, Dina is local to no particular landmass. France, Tahiti and Spain have also helped her change and grow. She currently feels at home in Santa Cruz, CA, where she researches comparative literature, teaches, writes, paints, wave-rides and loves regularly.
