Toronto-born Evan Jones lives in Manchester, England. His poems and translations of Modern Greek poetry have appeared in journals in Canada, the US, and England; his first collection, Nothing Fell Today But Rain (Fitzhenry & Whiteside), was published in 2003.
Miltos Sachtouris (1919-2005) was a major figure in Greek letters and twice won the National Poetry Award, in 1962 and 1987. More recently, he received the 2003 Grand State Literature Prize for his life's work. He died in March
2005 in Athens.
