Do Not Confuse the Word Climacteric With the Word Climactic & Bride to Groom, poems by Eleanor Wormwood

Do Not Confuse the Word Climacteric With the Word Climactic

Both of which were found in the dictionary
while looking up the word cliche because a poet
friend called another poet friend a cliche
(a person or character whose behavior is
      predictable or superficial).
Cliche led to click, client, clientele,
      cliff, cliff dweller,
      cliffhanger & then
climacteric (a period of life for women when
      physical powers begin to decline)
climactic (of or constituting a climax) climate, climatology, &
climax (the point of greatest intensity, orgasm).

The closer you get to climacteric
the more you worry about getting to climax
      suggesting that you have become
what my poet friend would call a cliche,
unless of course you are not a woman.

      Bride to Groom

What if you love me with wrinkles,
will Botox go out of business?

What if I love you with wrinkles,
am I terribly discerning with my x-ray eyes?

What if my breasts remind you of a boy’s,
do you get two for the price of one?

What if you remind me of a boy, can I
be a huggy girl with velcro arms?

What if you really love a woman, will you be
loved back into delirium or tedium?

What if delirium tedium sets in, will it be
      magnum mysterium?

What if my bra is decorated with leaves and flowers
and there are no mirrors, are they for me or for you?

What if I wear a bra with leaves and flowers,
can you play the sun & the rain?

What if your penis is a pestle,
would you mix me into a potion?

What if I am a potion, will you put me in a vial
on a chain around your neck or drink me?

What if you are a bright light at night, can I
be a heart youbathing on your dark beach?

What if your light has forgotten how to see, will you
take 2 remember me’s and lie down next to my heart?
