Samar Habib received her doctorate from the University of Sydney, Australia, in the areas of cultural, sexuality and literary studies. Her monograph Female Homosexuality in the Middle East: Histories and Representations was recently published by Routledge. Along with academic articles and translations published previously in the online academic periodical EnterText Habib has published a number of creative works and poetry including the novel A Tree Like Rain (2005).
