The Man Who Repairs Women: 10 Peace Nobel Prize for Africa

The Congolese gynecologist Denis Mukwege, 63, Nobel Peace Prize 2018, is known worldwide for his intense action for raped women in various conflicts in the DRC, Democratic Republic of Congo (former Zaire).

Trained at the Universities of Burundi, Angers (France) and Brussels (Belgium), Denis Mukwege began his medical career in the early 1980s, in Lemera, South Kivu province, East of the DRC , before moving to France. In 1989, he returned to Lemera to practice in a hospital built with the help of Swedish Pentecostal Missionaries in 1971. Read More

The Chinese Nobel Prize in Literature, Mo Yan guest of the International Book Fair of Algiers

A tribute will be paid to the Chinese novelist Mo Yan who won Nobel Prize in Literature in 2012 by organizers of the International Book Fair of Algiers (SILA), Ministry of Culture said Tuesday in a statement.

China has been chosen to be the guest of honor of the 23rd International Book Fair of Algiers to be held from Oct. 29 to Nov. 10, when novelist Mo Yan will be present with the Chinese delegation and more than 150 writers and editors. Read More
